IntroductionMass and motion, In the gravimotion theory, In that chapter the structure of the atom is used to show how erroneous our concept of mass is. In the following, Einstein's E = mC2 famous equation instead is used to show that mass doesn't exist. Einstein's equation can be interpreted in two different ways, providing two opposite interpretations of mass! According to physics, mass is energyThe speed of light C in vacuum is in physics a universal constant. As such selecting an appropriate unit system, C can be chosen as C=1. Now C2=1 and the equation is reduced to (mass) m = E (energy). Mass is energy! And this led to the discovery that mass is atomic energy. Please note that making C2=1 does not suppress the reality of light energy, worse Einstein's equation is now limping out of balance! Here is a different logic, and along with it a totally different concept of massAs explained in the next three lines, identifying mass to energy doesn't make sense. The equality of inertial and gravitational mass is a fundamental tenet of physics. And inertial mass very essence, in physics, is to impede acceleration. As such, and in spite of the preceding section, mass is inert that is the opposite of energy or energy very anti-entity! On the other hand, because dynamic, the factor C2 is better adapted at playing the role of energy. Yet to do so, the following has first to be taken in consideration:
Getting back then to E = mC2, even though neither expression looks logical at first, it makes more sense to write C2 = E than m = E. It makes sense because the mathematical speed C is considered here to represent physical thrust3 rather than an unattainable absolute speed. Now C2 being labeled energy, and just to keep Einstein's equation balanced, the mass m has to be demoted to a number without units. All in all E is the product of a number m that has no units by C2 a specific amount of energy: E = m C2. The alleged mass atomic energy becomes motion atomic energy, just as it manifests itself when liberated! Matter is energy packaged with energy both made of physical motion, both very likely releasable under the form of motion when appropriate conditions are met. There is no mass in the atom! Mass is an illusion of our minds! ConclusionThe dynamic factor C2 is by far better adapted, than the inert mass m, to account for the energy in Einstein's equation. The side effect of this new interpretation is that mass doesn't exist and is an illusion of our minds! As a consequence the answer to the question: what is mass? is that mass is only a word of the English language!
The theory of gravimotion is at the origin of this interpretation of Einstein famous equation.
Actually in gravimotion's interpretation of Nature, speeds and energy just as mass are all fictitious and have no physical collateral! The goal of this web page is to restore, within the mind of the reader, the reality of motion, which is totally ignored in physics. In the gravimotion interpretation of Nature, the universe is made of only one real entity and that is motion not to be identified to speed! Interested? Gravimotion's interpretation of Nature is described for you in the book advertised above right.
Footnote 1:
Light energy is either found in the amplitude of the light wave (Maxwell's equations) or in the light wave frequency (physics' photons) and not in light own speed C.
Footnote 2:
In the science of physics light energy comes under the format of speedy photon particles. While photons have no mass, photons in physics have a frequency that precisely plays the role that mass has in discrete particles such as electrons. It does so because the relative motions of the emitters and receivers of light, independently of light's intrinsic speed C, do modify the photons frequency or energy, just as relative speeds modify a particle electron mass/kinetic energy. From that point of view Einstein's factor mC2 looks very much like kinetic energy mv2. Footnote 3: Even though not the case in reality, the speed of light C is considered mathematrically to embody energy, just as any speed v does, through its plain characteristic of dynamic speed. |
